Learn To Speak Spanish Fluently
Many people are buying property in Spain and are wanting to live there. Speaking to others who have already located there, it is important to learn to speak Spanish fluently if you are going to fit in with the locals and enjoy being part of the community. Spanish is the 2nd most spoken language and because businesses are all looking at the global markets even if you do not want to live in a Spanish speaking country your firm might want to do business there and employers are often looking for people who are bilingual.
So what is the best way to learn Spanish fluently.
My first action was to look at the different methods of learning, I looked at community classes after work, buying a book and online courses. Each method has its limitations, so find one that suits you. Make sure you will learn all the everyday phrases that are needed plus have reference to a vocabulary that will make you fluent.
Once you have decided on what sort of course suits you (I choose online) make a commitment to yourself to follow through with the lessons provided. Normally you will start hearing the language for the first time and it will be simply repeating the words after the instructor and getting used to the sound and look of the language.
Because both English and Spanish have Latin based roots you will notice that some of the words seem similar. When you start learning Spanish you will notice that the vowels have very different sounds to the way they are pronounced in English . When you look at the written words in Spanish you will have to start thinking of the Spanish way of pronouncing their words and not sounding them out the same way as we do in English(this does become easier).
It was then a matter of practicing my new phrases and words to build up my vocabulary every day, if you have not learnt the previous lesson it is very easy to get behind. If you are going at your own pace you can control when you move on, if you are going to classes it is important that you do not get behind. Each lesson will build on the previous one. It is amazing how quickly you start getting more confident with your Spanish speaking.
As with most tasks, the way to improve more quickly and to have fun is to do it with some one else. Working together usually produces better results. Someone in your family or a friend might want to speak Spanish with you. If you are constantly hearing another voice and someone hearing you your results will be better. Also a buddy tends to encourage you and help keep you on target.
